Zucchini Tuesday

Well I have a sad confession to make this week. I killed my best zucchini supplier. I didn't mean to it just happened to be hoovering over the lawn and didn't cope very well when I gently moved it aside. Now I really don't think I was that rough despite my mothers words 'you are a like a bull in a china shop'.  In fact I thought at first it was those rats. But then I remembered that in my haste to get the lawn mowed I picked up the offending overhanging branches up off the grass and it would seem I snapped it.

There was not much left to save once the growing and fruit part had no roots left. So I now have a gap. Not a very big one especially once the pumpkin takes hold.

At least there is another zucchini behind
Thankfully I did many a small harvest or two yesterday.

Chilli glut saved from the rats

Oven dried (perhaps a bit too long as I forgot about them overnight)
Hope you have been enjoying your zucchini glut. Pop over to Louise's place and see what she is up to this week with her zucchini

  1. What a pity! At least you have the yellow one. I love the zucchini kebabs - very nice. Now I want to have a barbeque just so I can make them!

    1. I know I hope that the other two buck up a bit. If all else fails I did put 2 plants in at a clients place and she might have a glut I can borrow from. You know those kebabs would have been better if I had pan fried them as I am not so good at bbqing.

  2. Woops! Those chillies look great and so much earlier than mine which are only just now setting fruit. I've had a red cayenne or two but that is it so far.

    1. I am sure you will have a great supply of them soon enough if they are taking over your pathways. I am amazed at the time differences between our gardens seeing as we are not so different in temperatures at this time of year

  3. What a bummer Jen! They can be a bit fragile like that. Still you have seemed to make the best of it. I love the colour of the yellow ones and must grow one next year. Kebabs look wonderful.

Love your chillies. I dried my stash outside (but I have a very dry climate) and I made flakes the other day.

  4. I expect if I left mine outside there would be a creature of some sort wanting to eat them. I just have to remember them before I go to bed rather then when I get up, thankfully it was on a super low heat.
